Do not be surprised, while wandering in the very famous Dong Hua Men Night Market in Beijing, to have over-enthused vendors trying to push in your hand a deep fried sheep's phallus spiraling on a stick. Dong Hua Men night market is like a food festival. It has lengthy strand of food stalls selling many traditional Beijing snacks. You can get dumplings, deep-fried stuff on a stick, boiled stuff on a stick, sweets, sugar-coated dates, etc. It has no seats. and no reservations. Many kinds of exotic meats and treats are on display, snakes, beetles, scorpions, centipedes, etc. This is in addition to chicken and duck dishes. In Dong Hua Men you can always see western tourists. Some have the courage to taste such "traditional" Chinese treats.

لا تعجب وأنت تتجول في سوق دونغ هوامن الليلي الشهير جداً في بكين، أن يتقدم إليك الباعة بحماسة مفرطة وأن يدفعوا إلى يديك عضو غنم ذكري مقلي ملتف حول عود خيزران (بروست) في محاولة لبيعك إياه. سوق دونغ هوامن اشبه بمهرجان لبيع الأطعمة إذ يتكون من سلسلة طويلة من أكشاك بيع الأطعمة التقليدية والوجبات البكينية الخفيفة. إذ يمكنك الحصول على الزلابية والأطعمة المقلي أو المغلية على أعواد خيزران وهناك الحلويات والسكريات والتمور المغلفة بالسكر، وما إلى ذلك. ولا توجد أية مقاعد أو حجزوات في السوق. وهناك العديد من اللحوم الغريبة المعروضة للزبائن. مثل الثعابين والخنافس و العقارب والديديان أم مئة رجل وما شابهها. هذا إضافة إلى وجبات الدجاج والبط. وفي دونغ هوامن تجد دوماً سيّاحاً غربيين، بعضهم يجد الجرأة الكافية لتذوق هذه الوجبات الصينية التقليدية.

الأناناولة فاكهة جديدة بنكهة الأناناس والفراولة

This is not an unripe or alpine strawberry, it is a hybrid fruit of pineapple & strawberry flavor.

هذه ليست فراولة غير ناضجة أو بيضاء ولكنها هجين بين نكهة الأناناس والفراولة.

It is "Pineberry", a new hybrid fruit that was publicized in Eastern Germany in April, 2009. It is smaller than strawberry with flesh that can range from soft white to orange and is very fragrant with a slight pineapple flavor. When ripe, it is almost completely white, but with red seeds. They are grown in greenhouses. Pineberries begin life as green berries, then become slightly white. By the time its deeply set seeds turn deep red, the white fruit is deemed ripe.
Pineberries were bred from a species of South American wild strawberry, but was nearly extinct until 2003, when a group of Dutch farmers banded together to save the plant. The Pineberry has been marketed to European restaurants, bakeries and wholesale markets.

انها "باين بري" أو يمكن أن نسميها بالعربية "أناناولة" (اناناس فراولة)، وهي ثمرة جديدة مهجنة تم نشرها في شرق ألمانيا في أبريل 2009. وهي أصغر من الفراولة ولحمها يتراوح بين الأبيض اللين و البرتقالي وهي ذات رائحة نفاذة بنكهة أناناس طفيفة. عندما تنضج هذه الفاكهة يصبح لونها أبيض تماما وبذورها حمراء. وهي تزرع في البيوت المحمية. تبدأ حياتها خضراء اللون تبيض بعدها قليلا. وعندما تصبح البذور حمراء قانية تكون الثمرة قد أصبحت ناضجة بيضاء.
تم توليد الأناناولة بتهجين نوع من الفراولة البرية من أميركيا الجنوبية، كادت أن تنقرض تقريبا حتى عام 2003، حين قامت مجموعة من المزارعين الهولنديين بالعمل معا على حفظ النبة من الإنقراض. وقد تم تسويق الأناناولة في المطاعم الأوروبية والمخابز وأسواق الجملة.
